Q1: What is the difference between NPT and BSPT threads?
NPT (National Pipe Taper) is the American standard with a 60° thread angle. BSPT (ISO 7/1) is the British/International standard with a 55° thread angle. They are not interchangeable, and mixing them will result in leaks and thread damage.
Q2: Do I need thread sealant for all male connectors?
Only for tapered threads (NPT and BSPT). Parallel threads, such as BSPP or SAE, rely on an O-ring or gasket and do not require tape or liquid sealant on the threads.
Q3: How do I read your part numbers?
