Overview
The TPP Series Hex Plug is designed to close an unused female-threaded port in instrumentation, process and industrial fluid systems.
Its male threaded connection installs directly into a corresponding female port, while the external hex head provides wrench engagement for installation and removal.
NPT is the primary thread configuration. Selected ISO/BSP tapered, ISO/BSP parallel and metric male-thread configurations are also available for different piping and equipment requirements.

Thread & Sealing Considerations
NPT is a tapered pipe thread. Sealing is developed through thread engagement together with a thread-sealing method appropriate for the fluid, temperature and operating conditions.
ISO/BSP tapered threads also use a tapered-thread connection but should not be assumed interchangeable with NPT. Thread form, pitch and dimensional standard must match the female port.
ISO/BSP parallel and metric threads are straight threads and require the sealing arrangement specified for the mating port or connection design. They should not be treated as self-sealing tapered pipe threads.
Thread standard, size, pitch and sealing method should therefore be verified before ordering or installation.
External Hex vs. Hollow Hex Plug
The TPP Series Hex Plug uses an external hex head for wrench installation.
A hollow hex plug uses an internal hex drive and is a separate fitting configuration. The two designs should be selected according to the available installation space, port arrangement and system requirements.

TPP Series Hex Plugs are machined from 316 stainless steel bar stock to ASTM A276.
